10 Years ago today......... Has it been that long..

10 years ago today , the impossible happened. A moment that happened that has literally changed the landscape of pro wrestling. 10 short years ago, Vince McMahon purchased his competition. 10 years ago on this very day, Vince McMahon cemented his legacy in the wrestling business by buying his sole competition and creating a monopoly in the wrestling business. Shortly there after wrestling fans salivated at the possibility of a WCW vs. WWF storyline. All of the elements were there in one company: The video library, The superstars, The larger than life personas. There was one element missing: The booking team.
10 years ago today started the ball rolling on what can be considered one of the worst booked wrestling angles in wrestling history. WWE could have made millions on a WWF vs. WCW storyline that could have lasted well over a year. They could of had their own brand if Vince wanted. What happened instead? We got a WCW/ECW merger vs. WWF and that feud would last approximately 6 months with the focus of the feud being the McMahons and their egos.
As I write this, I have mixed emotions. None of them are happy. A feud, a storyline was created the day Vince McMahon bought WCW. He had the greatest wrestling feud in the palm of his hand and he turned around, dropped it and walked away. I can't even comprehend what the powers that be in WWF were thinking while booking this feud. Legends such as Sting, Goldberg, Hogan , Nash, weren't even thought about being brought in. However they brought in guys like Palumbo, O'Haire, Stasiak, and Hugh Morris. They thought it would be a great idea to have those guy be the WCW invaders.  The more I write the more I get angry because it's like having an antique that you know will be worth money, and everyone else knows it will be worth money and EVERYONE wants you to make money off of it, but you throw it away.  All the wrestlers KNEW what could have been. EVERYONE knew what Vince had , and he spit on something that could have been so amazing.
Well.... All Is not lost, we still have TNA!
Oh Shit.

WWF RAW 1/2/93: No Idea What's On This Show....Uh,Oh.

All I know that's on this show... Is Doink vs. Typhoon. Which is a fast forward match. There is probably also 2-3 other squashes. Royal Rumble was 2 weeks prior, so Mean Gene will probably be back again to tell us again what happened. I really hope this show isn't as bad as I'm hyping it. Let's Roll the Footage!!

We are LIVE from the Manhattan Center....... 18 years ago...... Sorry for the tape delay.

Tatanka vs. Damian Demento
Small package by Tatanka almost gets a 3. Tatanka clotheslines Demento over top, follows him out and throws him back in. Irish whip into the corner, Demento comes out and takes the clothesline. Demento throws Tatanka off the ropes and delivers a back elbow which BARELY connects. WOW. Now I know why he hasn't been on TV for the last month. Demento goes for the pin and only gets 2. Demento slides behind Tatanka and starts to execute a rear naked choke. Tatanka "Hulks up" and delivers a couple chops, and executes his patented Samoan Drop for the win.
Winner: Tanaka
04:09:00, DUD. This match was nothing to write home about. Tatanka was a huge fan favorite at this time and this did nothing to showcase anything for him. It did however make Demento look boring as all hell.

We are shown a clip from MSG where Bret Hart gave a $100,000 from the WWF to the American Red Cross for the Headlock on Hunger. Say what you want about Vince McMahon and how he sexually harasses women. At least he feeds pour and malnourished kids while he does it.

Brutus The Barber Beefcake comes out for a special in ring interview. He says that he intends to return to the WWF ring despite almost dying with Hogan in a para sailing accident. He said that before the accident he laid his 80 year old mother in the grave because she died of cancer. Then his dad died, and finally his wife issued him divorce papers. Then the para sailing accident happened. Brutus said that he couldn't see shit, but he could hear and nobody gave him a chance. Nobody wanted to hold his hand. Nobody except, Hogan. The first time he got to open his eyes again, Hogan was standing in front of him....naked. No, not naked but the way we was making this sound it might as well have been the finish to the story. The crowd was hot for this when he came out, by the end of it they started getting restless. The interview finished with Brutus saying he was back to take on all comers and wouldn't back down from a challenge.

High Energy vs. Iron Mike Sharpe & Glen Ruth

Hart and Sharpe start, Irish whip off the ropes to a shoulder tackle to Owen followed by a dropkick to Owen. Tags follow and Koko dropkicks Sharpe and goes up top for the missle drop kick. Owen goes for the pin and gets the easy pinfall.
Winner: High Energy
DUD, 01:33:00. This was just squash match that made one team look phenomenal. The other team just looked out of place. Sharpe and Ruth were out of their element the moment they stepped into the arena.

We are then shown a slow motion recap of Doink taking off his cast and hitting Crush with it. We are told that Crush is in Hawaii convellessing and will be back in a couple weeks. I can't wait for the end of that stupid feud.

Doink vs. Typhoon.
Doink is handhandled straight from the bell. Doink tries a drop toe hold , which looks absolutely dreadful. Probably the worst I have ever seen. Doink follows it up with a hammerlock, and then boots to the back. Finally he attempts a version of a camel clutch which Typhoon escapes. Both men get back up to a vertical base, and Typhoon hulks up and gives Doink a huge powerslam. Irish Whip into the corner and Typhoon misses Doink. Doink then hits a top rope Shoulder tackle and pulls the tights for a 3 count.
Winner: Doink
DUD, 03:13:00, This was another match that was just uneventful and pointless. This was billed as the main match of WWF RAW this week. So With 20 minutes left in the show it's anyone's guess what's would be the main event.

Vince McMahon joins Todd Pettingail to talk about what we will see on WWF Mania on the weekend. Pettingail tells us that they will feature Giant Gonzales and how the whole locker room fears him. 20+ minutes in and this program is a complete bust.

Back in the ring and Howard Finkle tells us that Andre The Giant passed away on the weekend and he was a huge influence to a lot of people. They do a 10 belt ring salute with a picture montage. Man , he was so big he was literally like 3 feet taller than Vince McMahon.

Yokozuna vs. Bobby DeVito
No Relation to Danny DeVito. Another match that nobody cares about because they know who is going to win. Yokozuna is undefeated and they stick this jobber against him. DeVito runs towards Yoko and he takes a cresent kick right to the face. Yokozuna picks up DeVito and delivers a devistating Yurinagi. Thrown back into the corner and knocked down with a clothesline. Yokozuna then goes up , drops the Bonzai drop and gets the 3 count.
Winner: Yokozuna
DUD, 02:03:00. This needs no comments. It was another squash.

Vince McMahon is joined by Money Inc. Ted Dibiase says that the only thing that bothers him is an empty bank account but that will never happen. Dibiase says that Beefcake's story was sad , but what is even more sad is that he wasn't wrestled in 3 years and now he wants to wrestle. So they flip a coin, and Ted Dibiase wins. Jimmy Hart comes out and says that nobody can win by facing Brutus Beefcake. Ted Dibiase and IRS say that he's no better than anyone else in the audience and If he steps into the ring they won't hurt his pretty little face because that's all he has left.

Simple note. This show is almost over and it's one of the worst wrestling programs I have every watched. 3 DUDS and a Brutus Beefcake promo??

Lex Luger "The Narcissist" comes out to face          and during his entrance while admiring himself in the mirror a woman weighing at least 3 bills comes out and distracts him with the RAW sign card. This was actually really funny.

The Mr. Perfect Football vignette is shown. This never gets old. So good, how he throws the ball looks at the Minnesota Vikings player smirks and then runs is so good.

"The Narcissist" Lex Luger  vs. Jason Knight
Luger locks up wth Knight and throws him across the ring. Luger picks him up and bodyslams him. Luger finally picks him up and delivers dual Bionic Elbows before finishing Knight off with the 3 count.
Winner: The Narcissist Lex Luger
DUD, 02:23:00. This was another piece of crap. Another DUD. It was basically Luger getting his signature moves in and looking extremely strong.

Final Thoughts: This show was complete and utter crap. If someone offers you this show, run in the other direction. 5 Matches should be something to write home about. However, all of those 5 matches did nothing to build characters or to build feuds. All 5 of those matches were DUDS. There were only two bright spots in this show. The first was when Brutus Beefcake showed his real life Homosexual love in the promo at the beginning of the show. Ok, he's not really in a relationship his Hogan. However, you wouldn't have guessed that with how he have Hogan a verbal Blow Job. The Other great thing about this program was the Mr.Perfect Vignette. His vignettes when he would play sports were always so amazing and fun to watch. Again..... Worst RAW yet. I deserve a hot poker up my ass for sitting through this.

TNA apologies for Victory Road.........Sort Of

TNA apologized this week to the people that purchased TNA Victory Road last Sunday. The company didn't issue a formal apology per say, however they did tell the fans via the TNA website that if they purchased Sunday's PPV they could send in their proof of purchase and would get a six month subscription to TNA on Demand available at the TNAwrestling.com website.
Are you kidding me? This is TNA's Apology? This is how Dixie Carter apologizes to fans?
Fans are apauled at your product right now. They don't want to watch it , they don't want to hear about it. Your solution to the fans that ordered the show is to offer then more TNA to watch?
This is another dagger in the heart of TNA. The people that take advantage of this are the ones that either have little to no TNA in their wrestling library and they will use this opportunity to go back and watch and potentially record anything that was worth while. Or you have the Fans that enjoyed the PPV (even though I don't know how you could) but just want free stuff.
I am currently still a fan of TNA. I am riding the fence of  "TNA can still pull this out in the bottom of the ninth" and  "Let's leave it early to beat the traffic". My personal belief is TNA is one more stupid mistake away from being the company that came close but didn't take the neccessary risks to become a viable alternative to the WWE.

WWF RAW 1/25/93: Flair v. Perfect

Not going to lie, never seen this match. Never seen this RAW, so I don't know what to expect. I know that the much anticipated Repo Man vs. Savage match is also on this show. So I don't know which one I want to see more. That's rhetorical.

Here we go!

WWF RAW.....Is live from the Manhattan Center ... 18 years ago.

Ok, before we start. TNA could learn from watching early WWF RAW. The different between doing RAW for a full 6 months to a year at the Manhattan Center compared to TNA running at Universal Studios is simple. People paid to see RAW. Just RAW. Nothing but RAW. At Universal , it's like another ride. If a ride is packed, or it's raining that day, it's just another option. When you go on the road or do your event at a single location , you give your crowd no choice but to watch the show or leave. If they pay upwards of fifty bucks a ticket, you can bet that in today's economy they won't leave even if the show is bad.
Ok, that is my rant. The only rant for the show. Unless we see some really bad Crush/Doink segments.

Sean Mooney is outside opening RAW when the Repo Man comes out of nowhere on the same Tow Truck that he left with last Monday. He says that Randy Savage better be ready because he will Repo his career just like he did his hat. Didn't make sense, but It was funny.
Inside , FINALLY Bobby Hennan is on the announce team. However, Rob Bartlett is still there. I don't know when he leaves the announce team. I'm guessing that he doesn't last past September of 1993. He's that bad.

Repo Man vs. Randy Savage
Randy runs out and starts brawling with Repo on the outside. Back in Savage drops an ugly knee from the second rope on Repo. Repo powders out and tries leaving the arena but Savage goes after him and headlocks him all the way back to the ring. Savage throws Repo to the outside, and Repo goes to work on Savage by throwing him into the ringpost and slamming Savage onto the ring steps several times. Back in and Repo Man attempts a body scissors while giving him a mouth full of trash talk. Snap Mare by Repo Man, which is followed up by a leg drop by Repo Man. Repo Man covers and hooks the leg for a two count. Side Suplex by Repo leads to a cover, and that also gets a two count.Savage counters an axe handle wit an mid air clothesline. Savage follows that up with a bodyslam and the beautiful elbow drop. The ensuing cover gets the 3.
Winner: Randy Savage
*, 08:59:00 , The match started off hot with the brawl on the outside. Nothing really exciting after the initial brawl on the outside. With Repo Man , you can't really expect a lot. If you expected this to be a wrestling clinic..Well, you were seriously disappointed and probably thought about killing yourself.

Kamala vs. The Brooklyn Brawler
Irish Whip into the corner which is countered and Brawler goes for the ride. Kamala misses the splash and Brawler attempts the bodyslam which is also countered into a bodyslam to the brawler. A chant of "You are A Man" ensues. Great Chant. A variation of a Bonzai drop in the corner on the Brawler, as Kamala tries to pin him with Brawler on his stomach. Kinda funny spot. Brooklyn Brawler was a jobber even back in 1993! Kamala slips while going for the pin. Kamala throws brawler into the corner, brawler hits his shoulder on the ringpost. Kamala follows it up with a splash and the cover for 3 count.
Winner: Kamala
DUD, 03:34:00 This match was barely funny. It was a squash from beginning to end. I don't know if there is a reason on why they would make Kamala look so strong, when he was a joke character.

Vince McMahon interviews The Reverend Slick and Kamala on the outside. Slick says that the people are the reason for The Ugandan Giant's new passion. Their love is the reason for his new found ability in the ring. He warns that Kim Chee and Harvey Whippleman better watch out.

Mean Gene joins us for the Royal Rumble report. He tells us that the Royal Rumble will be available on VHS by February 11th. WHAT?! That is a serious turn over. WWE doesn't release DVD's for 3 months later. Gene tells us that his current love life in the WWF consists of Leg Luger because he looked like a brozed adonis. Also , he was shocked that The Giant Gonzales manhandled The Undertaker like nobody else had ever done.

Main Event: Loser Leaves WWF Match
Ric Flair vs. Mr. Perfect

They are giving this match close to 20 minutes! This match should be awesome! Intense Stare down to start. Collar and Elbow tie up, off the ropes and Mr. Perfect executes a nice drop toe hold and Flair powders out. Nice start. Back in and both men exchange hammerlocks. Flair reverses and backs Perfect into the corner and both men exchange chops. Perfect lands about 4-5 left jabs and flair sells them likes he's been shot. Flair throws Perfect out of the ring and goes for a chair. However, Earl Hebner grabs the chair before he can use it
Mr. Perfect is attempting a sunset flip as we come back from commercial, they go to the outside and Perfect is busted open with a shot to the ring post. Back in, both men exchange punches and chops. Flair is thrown into the turnbuckle , bumps off a punch and Perfect gets a two count off a wheelbarrow pin. Both men fight to try to get the other on a backslide. Perfect gains the advantage and only gets a two count on the pin attempt.
Flair bails to the outside and is chopped and suplexed back in. Perfect attempts another pin and again, only gets a two count. Flair attempts a sleeper but Perfect reverses it by running Flair into the turnbuckle. Perfect comes back with a sleeper of his own, but it's reversed into a suplex. Flair is the first up, and he locks on the figure four leg lock! The Ref sees that Flair has been grabbing the ropes so he calls for the hold to be broken. Flair starts working on Perfect's legs. We are back from commercial and flair grabs brass knuckles from his boots, and nails Perfect. He drops the elbow for good measure, but Perfect gets his foot on the rope before the referee can count 3. Mr.Perfect "Hulks Up" and throws Flair off the top rope. Flair gets back up and attempts an axe handle but is clothelined in mid air. Flair gains the advantage and whips Mr.Perfect off the ropes, Perfect reverses the whip and nails Flair with the perfectplex with the win.
***, 17:48:00, First 3 Weeks on the air and this was the best match they produced. These two guys had a real knockdown drag out brawl. Fun to watch and had some real good false finishes.

Vince McMahon closes off the show by telling us of next weeks featured match up. Typhoon vs. Doink The Clown. Really? You decide that you can't even come close to matching Flair vs. Perfect , so you decide to not even try?? Rob Bartlett says that Doink is a creep and the show ends. Who is Rob Bartlett to call Doink a creep.

Final Thoughts: Uhhhhhgggg. I don't know what to think of this show. Everything including commentary was dull until Mr. Perfect vs. Ric Flair. It's almost like the energy at the Manhattan Center was all being saved for that one match. It's like everyone knew that everything else was crap, and didn't want to watch it. Anyways, I share the same opinion. If you own this show or see a download link. Skip or Avoid everything except the 18 minute match with Flair and Perfect. It's a good match.

Till next time!

WWF RAW 1/18/93:

We are back at the Manhattan Center and We are taped... From over 18 years ago.

WWF RAW 1/18/93

We are joined at ringside by Vince McMahon, Randy Savage and....Rob Bartlett who rips a picture of Ted Turner. He says, "Fight The Real Enemy". So let's recap. Instead of having Bobby Hennan start things with Billionaire Ted you have Rob Bartlett? Repo Man comes out of nowhere and steals Randy Savage's cowboy hat.

Terry Taylor vs. Mr. Perfect.

Ok this looks like it could be way better opener then last week. Simple take down to start. Lock up in the corner and punches are exchanged. Irish whip to the other and perfect hits a dropkick. Powder to the outside by Taylor. Bobby Hennan comes on the phone to tell us about Narcissist. Perfect and Taylor exchange hip tosses and seated drop kicks before getting back to a vertical base. Jaw breaker to perfect and a backbreaker lead to a subsequent two count. Spinebuster on perfect also leads to a two count. Taylor tries for a gut wretch power bowb and also gets a two count. Perfect literally 'hulks-up' and hits all of his babyface spots. The Head between the knees, the atomic drop, the seated head slingshot. Ric Flair comes to ringside and attacks Mr. Perfect with chops. Flair throws Perfect in, and Taylor attempts a suplex which is reversed into a perfectplex for the 3 count.
Winner: Mr. Perfect
**, 10:12, This match was better then last weeks opener. Started off with a basic wrestling match. Then turned into a brawl to the outside, and ended with interference that didn't work out. Taylor got a lot of offense in the middle, which made him look like a formidable opponent.

Bret Hart comes out to join us for an in ring interview to talk about his opponent at Royal Rumble, Razor Ramon. Bret says that he thinks Razor is the lowest scum of the earth, and when Royal Rumble comes the Hart Family name will redeem itself because he's the best there is , best there was and the best there ever will be.

Marty Jannetty vs. Graham Ruth

Handshake to start. Irishwhip to the corner, boot to the face and Jannetty goes upstairs to deliver the flying bulldog. Very well done to the jobber. The night of phone calls continues as Shawn Michaels calls in to tell us that he will roll Jannetty out of the WWF. Simultaneously Jannetty delivers a great series of arm drags. A series of hammerlocks follows before Ruth can throw Jannetty off the ropes but it's countered with the Rockerdropper and the cover for the 3 count.
Winner: Marty Jannetty
DUD, 05:04:00, This was supposed to make Marty Jannetty look really strong for when Jannetty faces Shawn Michaels at The Royal Rumble. However, the hammerlocks and the boring match just made Jannetty look way out of Shawn's league.

We go to WWF Mania on the weekend and footage of Doink the clown attempting to bury the hatchet with Crush by giving him a flower. When Crush gives the flower to a fan he gets attacked by Doink and the cast he was wearing. I couldn't be more ashamed to be a wrestling fan.

Back from the Commercial and we go to Sean Mooney outside who catches up with Repo Man who says that Randy Savage was late with payments for his cowboy hat. Don't Cowboy hats cost like 50 bucks? Maybe 100? Was Savage that low on money that he couldn't make a payment for one of his cowboy hats? Furthermore, don't you think his Slim Jim advertisements would cover any type of debts he would have? Whatever....Logic in wrestling, who am I kidding.

Mean Gene gives us the Royal Rumble report. We get a random interview from Razor Ramon and then Gene gives us a list of a majority of the people that will be competing in the Royal Rumble match. He closes the segment by telling us about the Intercontintental Title Match.

Sean Mooney is outside the Manhattan Center and Macho Man runs out trying to find the repo man. He runs from one side of 8th avenue and then back to say something to mooney and then back to the other side , and then comes back again asking where the Repo Man is. Really odd segment.

Main Event: Tito Santana vs. Nature Boy Ric Flair

Collar and Elbow tie up to start, shoulder tackle to Flair. Repeated spot again. Santana then delivers a bodyslam, and a hip toss in succession before applying a headlock to Flair on the ground. Clothesline and Dropkick follow to Flair. Flair throws El Matador from the turnbuckle and goes for the wheelbarrow pin, but only gets a two count. Flair drops two rolling knee drops on Tito Santana before pulling him up. Flair goes up top but naturally gets thrown off. Tito Santana nails a back body drop and flying forearm before Mr. Perfect comes out and pulls Ric Flair outside. Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair start brawling at ringside.
Winner: No Contest
* 1/2 , 09:12:00, Match was ok while it lasted. You knew that Mr. Perfect was going to come out and get retirubtion for what Ric Flair did in his opening bout. The post match brawl created some incredible heat between both guys. The match itself was ok, but the segment and what it produced was really good TV.

Perfect and Flair are still brawling, and Ric Flair comes out and tells us that the WWF isn't big enough for him and Perfect. So next week he wants Perfect in front of the world and God. WOW! That's a big match. One of them stays, and one of them goes. A retirement match.......In front of the world , and God.

Mr. Perfect then joins Vince and tells Vince that he will take that challenge in a heartbeat. He says that if this is what it takes to get Ric Flair out of the WWF, he will take that challenge.

We go outside where we see the Repo Man with Macho's Hat, and now with a SUV. Except it's not any ole' SUV. It's Rob Bartlett's. He's getting it towed and Repossessed. So he puts on Macho Man's Hat and drives off with the tow truck.

Final Thoughts: Completely different show from last week. Last weeks show felt forced in places , and didn't even have the wrestling dynamic that would keep people interested for a whole show. This show however (for the majority) was well thought out and had good match ups. It's also leading us to a really good match up between Flair and Perfect next week. Next weeks show should really be good. If it's not I'll be surprised.

Thumbs up

Thoughts On Ending Of Victory Road

After watching Victory Road tonight , only one thought comes to mind. Did Vince Russo, Dixie Carter and the rest of the creative team watch the Bash At The Beach screwjob recently? I say that because the ending to the Sting Hardy match had the same vibe. The match ending almost as quickly as it started. One Wrestler looking more confused then the other. So many questions , no answers right now.
The early rumor making the rounds tonight is that Jeff Hardy showed up "Unable To Compete" , which in Pro-Wrestling is code for : Really High, or Really Drunk.
If this rumor is true, then I see Jeff Hardy on one of his last legs. How much longer can a company that is trying to be taken seriously employ an individual that is consistently putting their credibility at risk. It's one thing to give second chances. It's another when a person takes advantage of the person giving the second chance and not the opportunity itself.
I really hope that this isn't the case with Jeff Hardy. His new role in TNA as a monster heel is really really working well. I would hate to see him be the cause of his own destruction.
Again, It's only a rumor and the show only ended an hour ago... So stay tuned.

WWF RAW 1/11/93: The Debut!

So Here we go... The Debut of Monday Night RAW on USA. Of Course It's over 18 years late, but who's counting.

WWF RAW 1/11/93

Sean Mooney is standing outside of the Manhattan Centre telling us that the streets were jammed packed minutes ago but now they are jammed packed inside. I don't know about you, but If they only opened the doors minutes before the show aired, I'd be pretty pissed.
Bobby Heenan comes strolling by and is going to use the front entrance, nobody stopping to ask the legend for an autograph. Mooney tells him that he can't get in cause it's sold out, and that he's been replaced by Rob Bartlett. Replacing Bobby Hennan with Rob Bartlett is the equivalent of trading Cam Neely for Barry Pedersen.
We are then joined ringside with Vince McMahon, Macho Man and  Rob Bartlett who can't wait to see Koko B.Ware face off against Yokozuna. I swear I can't make this stuff up.

Koko B.Ware vs. Yokozuna
Undefeated Yokozuna starts off the contest by doing his sumo ritual. Lock up to start and Yoko throws his all the way across the ring. Koko tries for a shoulder tackle but bounces right off. A series of Dropkicks staggers Yoko. Yokozuna comes back with a leg drop, nails Koko with a forearm as he stands up and pulls him to the corner for the dreaded Banzai Drop.
Winner: Yokozuna
DUD, 03:45:00.  This was just crap. and a way to make Yoko look unstoppable. However, Koko looked like a grade 3 student in the ring with a College Wrestler. This match up was just stupid.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan comes to us via pretaped message about The Narcissist. He compared His protege to Ice Cream and Mr. Perfect to Horse manure. He told us that he will unveil Lex Luger at the Royal Rumble. Oh My. I Can't Wait. I See Him. I'm So Excited.

The Steiners Brothers vs. The Executioners
There is way too much to talk about in this match to write it all. I will simply state that The Exectutioners didn't get one move in. This was a clinic on how to do a DUD match. Make 1 team actually use multiple moves and decimate the other team.
Winner: Steiner Brothers
DUD, 03:01:00 unlike the Yoko match where they stared at each other for 2/3rd of the match. This match was all action. All decimation by the Steiner's. DUD's usually suck but this one actually made the Steiners look really strong.

Bobby Heenan is now dressed up in drag and tries to get back in the building. He says that he is Rob Bartlett's aunt and he needs to get in their and see him. Actually funny to see Bobby Heenan in a dress and make-up. Seriously though get Bartlett off the broadcast team. He adds nothing to the team.

Razor Ramon in the ring for an interview about his title shot at the Royal Rumble. He says that he's ready for his opportunity, but what Bret did in 8 years he will do in 8 short months. Razor said that he can't do anything about what he did to Owen Hart, and he can't do anything about him winning the WWF Title at the Royal Rumble. Very simple but effective promo. Something that a majority of the current WWE roster can't do.

Intercontinental Championship Match:Max Moon vs. Shawn Michaels
Shawn Comes out to his original sexy boy music sung by Sherri. Hammerlock from Shawn is reversed and Moon does the same to Shawn. Belly to Back is reversed by Shawn flipping over, Max Moon then delivers a hip toss, an arm drag and body slammed and powders to the corner. Very interesting armslam delivered by Max Moon is then turned into a hammerlock while on the ground. Good pace to this match. Shawn Misses a splash in the corner. Tries again and gives snake eyes to Moon. Dropkick by Shawn. This match is then interrupted by Doink the clown at ringside and Rob Bartlett doing a Mike Tyson impression and Vince McMahon exchanging Dialog with him. I'm not lying. Back to the match. Attempted bodyslam is turned into a small package by Moon and only gets a 2 count. Michaels attempts a dropkick , Moon avoids and slingshots Michaels over the ropes. Back in, unique front samoan drop gets a 2 count. Shawn Then hits his back body side slam for the 3.
Winner: Shawn Michaels
**, 09:55:00. This was a great back and forth match up. Moon got some good offense in, and Shawn looked like a credible champion. There really wasn't a doubt that he was going to lose the belt as he was scheduled to face Marty Jannetty for the belt at Royal Rumble.

Mean Gene comes to us and gives us the Royal Rumble Report. Where we get a promo from Shawn where he tells us that Marty didn't deserve a title shot , but he's a nice guy so he'll give Marty a shot anyway. Marty gives us a horrible response saying he'll end Shawn's career. Various other responses about the Rumble from Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Mr. Perfect.

Sean Mooney is outside again this time he is with a Rabbi who wants to see his nephew Rob Bartlett. Bobby Heenan has his beard removed and he tells us he has to get inside. I agree, I don't think I can take much more of Rob Bartlett's Stupid comments.

On Superstars this past weekend , Kamala saw the light because of referend Slick. Kamala was pushed around by Harvey Whippleman and Kim Chee. So out came Slick and he got beat up by both  Whippleman and Kim Chee. So Kamala started slapping his belly and nailed Chee out of the ring and chased Whippleman out of the arena.

Main Event:Damian Demento vs. The Undertaker
Demento tries getting the advantage on Taker but her gets a faceplant for good measure. Undertaker goes up top for the rope walk. Demento goes up top and nails an axe handle on The Undertaker. Tombstone gets a 3 count at 02:26:00 for the win.
Winner: The Undertaker
DUD, 02:26:00

Doink is interviewed by Vince. Vince says that he shouldn't make children cry, or Crush will hurt him. Wow, great angle. Crush says , "Don't Make Kids cry....BRA". Doink doesn't listen and runs away, laughing at him. Very Very pointless segment. Why was this match even signed for Wrestlemania. This was ridiculously stupid
Bobby Hennan is shown finally getting access to the building. Too Late though because the show is over.

Final Thoughts: Well 3 out of the 4 Matches were DUDS. 1 Match was really good but had Max Moon. A majority of the promos hit the mark and got the job done. The Bobby Hennan stuff wasn't really that funny. Rob Bartlett is just horrible to listen to on the announce team. He's just horrible. All and All the show wasn't good , but it's not bad. Hopefully this was just a one time thing.

Victory Road 2011 Predictions

So tonight is TNA's bi-annual PPV Victory Road. I say bi-annual, because this is one of the PPV's that TNA does at the beginning of the year and then by October they switch the order of their PPV's again, and Victory Road ends up in November or December.
Anyways, on with the card.
I'll be honest right from the hop. I know very little about TNA right now, only because Dixie Carter is running this company into the ground. I've been a supporter of TNA since day one. However, my patience with them is running extremely thin. Like, dental floss thin. So, excuse me if I don't know particulars on matches.
Moving onto the card.

Bully Ray vs. Tommy Dreamer:
Tommy Dreamer can still go, and by all indications is fighting to avenge the loss Brother Devon took last month at Against All Odds. Seeing as how they probably want Bully Ray too look like a monster heel for beating up not only Ray but his sons too, expect Bully Ray to win by DQ because Devon will get some measure of revenge tonight.
Winner:  Bully Ray by DQ

TNA Knockouts Tag Team champions Angelina Love & Winter vs. Rosita & Sarita:
I don't know much about this match. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that at least 1 belt is going to change hands tonight, and this won't be it. So , expect the champions to retain here.
Winners: Angelina Love & Winter

Matt Hardy vs. AJ Styles: Matt Hardy has been someone that has been unreliable in TNA. He's good one 1 or 2 nights. But he is never consistent. Furthermore, he is the most out of shape he has ever been. Also there is no need for him to win. AJ on the other hand is the future of this business. He is the future of TNA. Having him lose to Matt Hardy would be the worst thing for them to do for the company. With that being said, expect Matt Hardy to win via interference.

TNA Tag Team champions Beer Money vs. Ink, Inc :
Beer Money is the best tag team in the big 2. There is no other tag team in WWE or TNA that is as over as Beer Money. Ink Inc comes across like teenagers that just think they deserve the title shot just because.... No real concrete reason... Just because. Expect Beer Money to retain in a very unexciting match.
Winners: Beer Money

First Blood Match: Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan:
This match should be a big barn burner. Hernandez has been out for longer than 6 months. This is the culmination of their feud, this match should be huge. Expect this to be nothing short of a slugfest. I would assume that for this to go on longer Matt Morgan would win this so then this feud continues.
Winner: Matt Morgan

TNA X-Division Ultimate X:
Kazarian vs. Jeremy Buck vs. Max Buck vs. Robbie E
Ultimate X is always fun to watch. These matches are always innovative and extremely risky. You can rule the Bucks out as winners because they are strickly tag team competators. Kazarian and Robbie E have been in a lengthy feud for a while now. I would assume that Robbie E wins the title back just to keep the feud alive. However, I would also like to say that this Ultimate X has the possibility to be the most craziest yet. With 3 of the 4 guys being huge risk takers , this is going to be worth the price of admission alone.
Winner: Robbie E

TNA Championship: Sting vs. Jeff Hardy:
This is a no brainer, Sting just won the title 10 days ago in North Carolina. Taking the title off of him after a reaction like that would be a huge mistake. Futhermore, Hardy is still negotiating a plea deal for his drug peddling. I expect this to be a match full of finishers and punching and kicking. No clinics here. Just a good ol' 80's wrestling type match. In the end though, Sting powers through.
Winner: Sting

This PPV has the potential to be a great show. Ultimate X, Styles & Hardy, Morgan & Hernandez. However, it also has a huge potential to flop and be a horrible show. My bet is that TNA will surprise and that it will be a thumbs up show. I'm guessing people will be surprised at how good this show will be.
I guess 11 PM EST will either prove me right , or make me look like an idiot.
It's SHOWTIME Folks!!
